MIDLAND SHIPYARDS

Midland ON

Most recent update: July 14, 2021.

The shipyard in Midland, on Georgian Bay, was started in 1910 by James Playfair, the lumber industry executive who was the central figure in the development of Midland.  It had an uneven existence, was sold to Canada Steamship Lines in 1926 and finally closed in 1954.  See the site from the air on Google here.
