Vigor Alaska, Ketchikan AK
(formerly Alaska Ship & Dry Dock)
Most recent update: March 8, 2014.
Alaska Ship & Dry Dock Company was created by the Alaska DoT in the 1980s as a repair yard for Alaskan ferries. It had several operators over the years and was heavily supported by public agencies. In 2012, it was acquired by Vigor Industrial, which also owns the former Todd yard in Seattle and US Barge in Portland. Visit the company here. The shipyard is south of Ketchikan, in the village of Saxman: see it from the air on Google here.
