COBB, BUTLER

This shipyard, which was noted for its construction of large schooners, was at the east end of Mechanic Street in Rockland, close to the Snow shipyard.  It was started by Francis Cobb in 1845, became Cobb, Butler & Co. in 1889, when Cobb was joined by A.
