William T. Donnell, Bath ME

(previously Deering & Donnell)

Most recent update: April 13, 2016.

In 1860, William T. Donnell acquired the Hitchcock shipyard, on Washington Street, near Marshall Street, where the Maine Maritime Museum is today, and began building ships.  He was joined by Gardner Deering in 1866 and operated as Deering & Donnell until 1886, when Deering left and started his own business in the former Flint & Chapman yard, which was immediately adjacent.  Donnell then carried on on his own, later bringing his son Harry into the business.  If anyone has any corrections or additions to the table below, please send them to timcolton@aol.com.
