|
Virginia Shipbuilding was started by C. W. Morse,
of U.S. Steamship Co., who also started Groton Iron Works. The yard was at
Jones Point, on Battery Cove, close to where the new Woodrow Wilson Bridge is. Its main office building is still there, as the Jones Point
Army Reserve Center. |
