East Coast Shipyards, Bayonne NJ

(originally Marine Maintence Corporation)

Most recent update: November 26, 2016.

Marine Maintenance Corp. was originally developed by Sword Steamship Corp. as a repair and maintenance facility.  It was expanded for the construction of T-1 tankers but was unable to meet the U.S. Maritime Commission's standards and was reorganized as East Coast Shipyards, Inc.  The yard was at the foot of 21st Street East, also known as Constable Hook and deep in Bayonne's forest of oil storage terminals.
