PENDLETON SHIPYARD

New Orleans LA

Most recent update: August 30, 2021.

Pendleton Shipyard Company was formed by Pendleton E. Leyde in 1941: it closed in 1947 and was sold to Calmes Engineering, which had been organized by John Wise Calmes.  The yard was at the Florida Avenue Wharf in New Orleans - see the site from the air on Google here - and was unusual in that its primary activity was handling inspection and delivery to the Navy of the many small vessels built by inland shipyards and shipped down the Mississippi.  The yard closed following the death of Calmes in April 1958.  If anyone can add to the table below, please send your info to timcolton@aol.com
