As far as I can tell from the sparse records, the Warren Boat Yard which was active during WWII was established in 1939 on the site of Alder Manufacturing: one of the founders of Warren BY was Ernest E. Alder, of Alder Manufacturing, who, earlier in his career, had been the Wood Superintendent at Herreshoff Manufacturing.
