ASTORIA MARINE

Astoria OR

Most recent update: June 20, 2014.

Astoria Marine Construction - originally called Astoria Shipbuilding - was started in 1924 by Joe Dyer, the son of a pioneer sawmill family.  It was originally a builder of fishing boats but became a leading builder of pleasure craft, including the Columbia River One Design, or CROD.  The yard, which closed in 2013, is on the east bank of the Lewis and Clark River, at its junction with Jeffers Slough: see it from the air on Google here.  There are a lot of gaps in the table below: if anyone can provide any data, please send it to me at timcolton@aol.com
