Ballard Marine Railway (and the related company, Ballard Shipbuilding) was a significant small shipyard from the 19th century through WWII. It was taken over in 1946 by Pacific Fishermen, a collective of Ballard fishermen who wanted control over who repaired their boats. Visit them at www.pacificfishermen.com and see the yard, which is at the foot of 24th Avenue NW, from the air on Google here. Will anyone who can add to the table below, please send your info to timcolton@aol.com |
