COLONNA'S SHIPYARD

Charles J. Colonna founded Colonna's Shipyard in 1875 on the south bank of the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River.  They started with a 50-ton marine railway and grew into a significant repair facility in the Tidewater area.  Although primarily still a repair yard, they have recently built some barges and clearly have the capability of doing more in that area.  Visit them at www.colonnaship.com and see the yard from the air on Google here.
