FAIRHAVEN SHIPYARD South Bellingham WA |

Most recent update: December 25, 2020. |
||||||||
This shipyard was originally Northwestern Shipbuilding Company, formed in 1942 by some Seattle investors led by Jack Gilbert, and closed in 1947. It later reopened as Fairhaven Shipyard, Inc., and built some fishing vessels during the boom of the 1970s, but failed again and became the Fairhaven facility of Puglia Engineering. Puglia went bankrupt and was liquidated in 2019, so the shipyard, which was located at 201 Harris Avenue, is now vacant. If anyone can provide any additional information about this yard or about the boats that it built, please e-mail it to me at timcolton@aol.com. Note that this company is not related to the Fairhaven Shipyard in Fairhaven MA. |
