Sneed Shipbuilding was established by Martin Sneed, in 1964, on the site in Orange that was previously the Harms-Smaihall Shipyard.  He later added a large repair facility in Channelview and started building tank barges there in about 2000.  The company failed in 2017 and the Channelview shipyard was sold to San Jac Marine.
