ROCKLAND MARINE

Rockland ME

Most recent update: July 31, 2020.

Rockland Marine started out as Snow Shipyards, founded in 1862 by Captain Israel Snow.  It was located at the end of Mechanic Street, adjacent to the Cobb, Butler yard: see the site from the air on Google here.  The Snow family sold it to General Seafoods after WWII.  The western half is now the Sail, Power and Steam Museum, while the eastern half is still active as Rockland Marine, which is primarily a repair yard but which retains the ability to build boats and barges.  Visit them at www.rocklandmarinecorp.com .  If anyone can add to the table below, please e-mail your info to timcolton@aol.com
