Universal Iron Works was started in the 1950s by Ronnie Trosclair, in a location on Bayou Terrebonne.  It prospered and expanded in 1975 by adding a second yard at 3201 Earhart Drive, on the south side of the GIWW, immediately to the west of the Prospect Boulevard bridge.  This address is the same as that used by Quality Equipment - later Quality Shipyards - which built boats there from 1969 through 2011.  Universal and Quality apparently shared this facility between 1969 and 1982.  How did that work?  If anyone can tell me more or add to the table below, please e-mail timcolton@aol.com.
