U.S. BUILDERS OF LARGE yachtS |
||||
This web site does not attempt to track the construction of recreational boats, because there are many millions of them, almost all manufactured of fiberglass and produced in factories rather than built in boatyards. There is still a custom yachtbuilding business in the United States, however, and for a while the U.S. was a significant builder of "megayachts" - boats with a registered length of at least 75 feet - but production has almost completely stopped in recent years, with most of these yards either becoming service facilities or closing. The output of the builders of large yachts is documented here as completely as possible. | ||||
